Widow Carries Out Husband's Bucket-List Alaskan RV Trip

When Ann Brenoff's husband died, she almost canceled the bucket-list RV trip through Alaska he'd planned. "After all," she writes, "he was the one who was going to drive the RV ― not me."Brenoff summoned her courage, however, and hit the road with her two children. The trip ended up being what she calls "a master class in life." Her poignant account of the journey, titled "What Driving A 33-Foot RV Through Alaska Taught Me About Moving Past Grief," is a master class in understanding and coping with the stresses of caregiving. At this stage in my life, I know many women (and a few men) who've taken on the role of caregiver for their parents and spouses. It's hard and often invisible and thankless work that I suspect people can't truly understand without experiencing. But this piece is a good place to start.Source: What Driving A 33-Foot RV Through Alaska Taught Me About Moving Past Grief | HuffPost
